North Island Hospitals Project community information meetings coming to Port Alice, Port McNeill and Port Hardy

CAMPBELL RIVER – Here is a chance to learn more about efforts to build a new $266 million, 95-bed Campbell River Hospital and a new $334 million, 153-bed Comox Valley Hospital.

Island Health (the Vancouver Island Health Authority) is hosting community information meetings for the North Island Hospitals Project in Port Alice, Port Hardy and Port McNeill next week. These meetings will focus on the scope and progress of the $600 million project.

We invite you to attend a session to find out more about how the North Island Hospitals Project will support your health care needs and those of your family and your community when these new state-of-the-art acute care facilities open in late 2017,‖ said Tom Sparrow, Chief Project Officer for the North Island Hospitals Project.  Island Health and North Island Hospitals Project staff will be on hand to answer questions and gather your input.

The information sessions will take place at:

Port McNeill—Sept. 17th, 7-9 p.m. at the Community Hall, 1473 Broughton Blvd.

Port Alice—Sept. 18th, 12-2 p.m. at the Community Centre board room, 951 Marine Drive.

Port Hardy—Sept. 18th, 7-9 p.m. at the Civic Centre, 7450 Columbia Street.
