Comox Valley Hospital parkade construction to impact walkway

2015-07-07

Construction of the new Comox Valley Hospital parkade will require a temporary closure of the public walkway along the hospital project’s north perimeter.

Please see attached map.

The construction contractor, Graham, has maintained the walkway during excavation of the parkade footprint, but the walkway will be temporarily closed in August during construction of the parkade and a nearby retaining wall. The walkway is anticipated to reopen in September 2016.

The immediate work involves removal of an existing chain link fence to make way for the parkade construction. Some trees and other vegetation will be temporarily relocated out of the construction zone. They will be replanted later as part of the overall site landscaping plan.

The North Island Hospitals Project apologizes for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause, and we thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
